Music...Memories...

You have music in life that is strongly associated with memories...at least, for me, it is like that very often. I guess that's a testimony on how present is music in my life. When I hear this one, it immediately brings me back on a bus, in the middle of China with my friend Sylvain in 1998. We were sharing his portable CD player ear buds... "Where would you ratther be....anywhere but here" 

Great times....great memories.

This is one, if not my favourite Rush album. This is the album where Rush pretty much stored the keyboard in the attic.. which I think allowed Geddy Lee (and the band) to focus on the drum and bass section which is more than amazing on this album.

Awesome songs writing... This Re-Issue on 200g vinyl sounds extremely good.

HR Giger - and his art on record cover

I've always been a fan of HR Giger. In fact, I was a fan before knowing who he was. If you don't know the artist, you might know him through his work with the design of the creatures and movie props of the Aliens movies. He is also known for providing the art on the cover of the Celtic Frost - To Mega Therion and Carcass - Heartwork albums (to only name those).

The art on this cover match perfectly the vibe of the record.

The biggest comeback of all time....

In my opinion, this is simply the biggest "comeback" album from an artist ever.... Just imagine...you create a band when you are not even an adult, you spend more than 10 years with this band, recording and selling millions of records...and you wake up, kick-out of this band with no money in your bank account, no band, only your voice and your wife that fortunately has some business sense émoticône smile Also, by some miracle, you meet a genius like Randy Rhoads with whom you write instant classics that will still be listened to in a 100 years from now.

This is an amazing album.

Exivious - Some Jazz/Rock/Prog Fusion with a touch of Heavy Metal

When I like a band, I'm always interested in knowing the band members to see if they have any other musical projects I may like. I discovered Exivious when two of its founding members joined the band Cynic for their re-union and tour in 2010 for their album Traced in the Air.

Exivious is a Finnish band playing Jazz/Rock/Prog Fusion with a touch of Heavy Metal. This band is Instrumental only so don't expect to hear any singers on their recordings. They recently issued their two albums on vinyl for the first time...so if you like Jazz/Rock Fusion, I highly recommend them!
